Adobe Documentary for NAB


Adobe needed engaging documentary style content in order to demo their new audio and editing applications at NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Convention.


Lens Fire dove into the world of big wave surfing with Patagonia Ambassador, Kyle Thiermann, to explore the confidence it requires to survive 30ft underwater after a horrible wipeout. We depicted this struggle in a variety of challenging locations and scenes. We shot in 10 locations in 3 days including underwater reenactments of big wave hold downs. We chose 8K cinema cameras in order to capture the level of quality needed.


In a short period of time we were able to tell a story about one of the largest and most dangerous waves in the world and the pro surfers that risk their lives to try and tame it. Adobe featured this content on a 30ft mega screen at NAB and used it for live displays. It was also used throughout their site for online tutorials and product displays reaching countless numbers of views.


Lens Fire Films won a Golden Telly Award for Branded Content in Sports & a Bronze Telly Award for Branded Content in Cinematography for our film, “Adobe: Mavericks”
